Misadventures of a barefoot/minimalist ultrarunner exploring some of the greatest places on earth
What's next - nude running?
They already have that: http://rwdaily.runnersworld.com/2011/04/no-clothes-no-chafing-no-problem.html
Yes, but nude runners usually wear shoes. #failThere is a description of a barefoot runner who went for a completely nude run in Ken Bob's book.
The ancient Greeks trained and competed naked in pretty much ALL of their sports, including running. Indeed, our word "gymnasium" comes from the Greek "Gymnos", which means naked. One notable exception was the "hoplitodromos", a 2 to 4-stade (384 m. to 768 m.) race in FULL ARMOR. How'd you like to run a sprint carrying 50-60 pounds of bronze? (The good news is, they still ran barefoot!)
How about an 80-pound bomb suit? http://rwdaily.runnersworld.com/2010/04/a-922-mile-in-a-bomb-suit.html
